Enrolling at IELC

How do I enroll at IELC?

Please come to IELC to discuss your goals and needs with one of our Course Consultants. After finding a course that meets your needs, you may be given a placement test to determine your level before starting your course.

How long is the placement test?

The placement test is 30 minutes for kids and 60 minutes for older students. An IELTS placement test takes up to 3 hours.

When can I enroll for courses?

IELC has a system of continuous enrolment so you can enroll at any time throughout the year.

What is the youngest age for enrolment?

We recommend starting lessons from 5-6 years of age.

IELC Teaching Methodology and Curriculum

What teaching methodology does IELC use?

Our teaching methodology is communicative and interactive. Lessons are dynamic and structured according to the student’s pace and level.

What curriculum does IELC use?

IELC has designed a curriculum based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). We source our materials from a range of publishers including Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Pearson and Longman & Oxford University Press.

Can IELC help with school work?

IELC’s curriculum is not aligned with the national school curriculum. However, if you need help with your school work, we are happy to organize a special program for you.

How many levels does IELC offer?

IELC has varying levels depending on your program.

Certification

Will I receive a certificate upon completion of my course?

Yes, IELC provides certificates upon completion of a course. IELC is accredited by the National Accreditation Board (Badan Akreditasi Nasional – BAN). As such, your certificate will be authorized by BAN.

Group Courses

How many students are there in a group?

Studies show that language class dynamics are ideal in groups ranging from 6 – 16 students. As such, the number of students in our group classes falls within this range.

What happens if I am unhappy with my group?

If you are not happy within your group, please talk to our course consultant to find you a new group.

What happens if I feel I have been placed in the wrong level?

If you feel you are in the wrong level, please talk to our course consultant, so we can find you a better placement that matches your goals and needs.

Private Courses

What are the advantages of taking a personalized private course?

You may be able to fast track your progress, especially if you require a course customized to your needs and goals. You also have more flexibility in terms of scheduling and choice of teachers.

How many students can enroll in a personalized private course?

Any number of students can enroll for a personalized private course. A placement test will be given to all participants in order to determine the level that is most suitable for everyone.

Scheduling and Holidays

What are IELC’s opening hours?

IELC Campus office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 20:00 and Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00.
IELC Solo Baru Branch office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 20:00.
IELC is closed on national holidays. IELC is closed for 1 week for Lebaran.

When are group courses scheduled?

IELC’s group lessons meet twice a week for 1 academic hour. Lessons are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 15:00 and 19:00; and Saturday between 13:00 and 17:00.

When are private courses scheduled?

Private courses are much more flexible and can be scheduled according to your needs any time on Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 20:00; and Saturday between 09:00 and 17:00.

What is the duration of IELC’s group courses?

Young Learners courses are 24 weeks. Teenager courses are 48 weeks. Payment periods are every 12 weeks.

How can payment be made for IELC courses?

We accept the following forms of payment: bank transfer, cash, debit and credit cards. Payment for group courses are made every 12 weeks.
