What Our Teachers Say

Meet our teachers

Maya Arinda

Work Period: Jan 2017 – Feb 2019

IELC has the best staff and the most helpful co-workers anyone can expect. The directors are open-minded and value our opinions. Not to mention the energy and enthusiasm we receive from our adorable students. The multicultural work environment is another benefit I experienced at IELC. My co-workers came from various countries, races and religions. I learned about respect, diversity and harmony despite all of our differences. IELC’s positive atmosphere and warmth always reminds me of home. I really enjoyed coming to work every day!

As a teacher, I was trained with a series of workshops to prepare and handle classes. The materials and resources were very useful and easily accessible. The classrooms are also equipped with facilities that make teaching so comfortable. Above all, what I like most about this place is the opportunity for me to develop my teaching skills and meet people that enrich my knowledge. I am honored to be part of this team and I recommend IELC highly indeed.

Working at IELC gave me invaluable life and career experience. Not many schools in Indonesia can compare to IELC. I was really impressed by the professionalism, talent and friendliness of all of the staff. Nina and Anthony were approachable and extremely helpful and always treated me fairly and with respect. The new building is perfect for teaching with top of the line facilities and open green spaces. The choice of teaching material is excellent and useful workshops helped me develop my skills as a teacher.

I was able travel extensively during my year at IELC. This provided me with a solid introduction to Indonesian life. Java has some truly beautiful and interesting places to explore but make sure to take trips out to the lesser explored sides of Indonesia too. I ended my year with a wealth of fantastic experiences and memories.

One of the things you miss the most when living abroad is your family. However, even when I get back home to Canada, I will still miss my family, my IELC family. I was blessed with the opportunity to work in an amazing place with great people. Nina and Anthony taught me how to develop my skills as a teacher and motivated me to accomplish career as well as personal goals. The teachers and staff I worked with were committed not only to our students but also to each other. The students I taught throughout the years were the reason I wore a smile to work every day. People will forget what you said and forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Thank you to everyone I crossed paths with because of IELC, you made me feel at home.
