Enrolling for IELC’s Online Course

How do I enrol for IELC’s Online Courses?

What is the youngest age for enrolment?

We recommend starting lessons from 5-6 years of age.

What if I can’t be with my child when he or she is online?

We recommend you assist your child in the first lesson for kids under the age of 10. But, once they have tried it a couple of times, they probably don’t need supervision and will benefit from learning independently.

What requirements are needed to join the online lessons?

Students will need the following:
1. A digital device such as a laptop, tablet or smart phone. If a student uses a desktop computer, it should be equipped with an external microphone and external webcam.
2. The student must be able to operate their audio and video – students cannot participate without audio or video.
3. Be contactable via WA. (mom/dad’s number is fine)
4. Have a stable internet connection with at least 10Mbps speed.

IELC’s Teaching System

What teaching methodology does IELC use?

Our teaching methodology is communicative and interactive. Lessons are dynamic and structured according to the student’s pace and level. We use a course book and exercise book so students can keep studying off-line.

How many levels does IELC offer?

IELC has varying levels depending on your program.

IELC’s Curriculum

What Curriculum does IELC use?

IELC has designed a curriculum based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). We source our materials from a range of publishers including Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Pearson and Longman & Oxford University Press.

Can IELC help with school work?

IELC’s curriculum is not aligned with the national school curriculum. However, if you need help with your school work, we are happy to organize a special program for you.

Certification

Will I receive a certificate upon completion of my course?

Yes, IELC provides certificates upon completion of a course. IELC is accredited by the National Accreditation Board (Badan Akreditasi Nasional – BAN). As such, your certificate will be authorized by BAN.

Online Group Courses

How many students are there in an Online Group Course?

For online lessons, studies show that language class dynamics are ideal in groups ranging from 5 – 15 students. As such, the number of students in our group classes falls within this range.

What happens if I am unhappy with my group?

If you are not happy with your group, please talk to our Customer Service to find you a new group.

What happens if I feel I have been placed in the wrong level?

If you feel you are in the wrong level, please talk to our Customer Service to find you a better placement that matches your goals and needs.

Online Private Courses

What are the advantages of taking an Online Private Course?

You may be able to fast track your progress, especially if you require a course customized to your needs and goals. You also have more flexibility in terms of scheduling and choice of teachers.

How many students can enrol in an Online Private Course?

Any number of students can enrol for a personalized private course. A placement test will be given to all participants in order to determine the level that is most suitable for everyone.

Scheduling

When are Online Group Courses scheduled?

IELC’s online group lessons meet twice a week for 40 minutes hour. Lessons are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00.

What is the duration of Group levels?

Young Learners courses are 12 weeks. Teenager courses are 12 weeks. Adults Conversation Courses are 12 weeks.

When are Online Private Courses scheduled?

Private courses are much more flexible and can be scheduled according to your needs any time on Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 17:00.

Holidays for Online Courses

Our Online Courses are closed on national holidays.

Pricing

How can payment be made for IELC courses?

We accept the following forms of payment: bank transfer, cash, debit and credit cards. Payment for group courses are made every 12 weeks.
